A continuous surveillance recorder built on Camera2 and MediaRecorder, running as a foreground service so capture survives backgrounding. Video is written in 60-second segments with automatic rollover, and each segment auto-uploads to Google Drive via the Drive REST API. A custom OpenGL ES 2.0 / EGL pipeline (Camera2 → SurfaceTexture → GL composite → MediaRecorder surface) burns a per-second timestamp directly into the encoded pixels, so it survives download and re-encoding rather than living as a UI overlay. Low-level media defects were diagnosed through frame-level ffprobe analysis — including an empty video track caused by presentation-timestamp rebasing, and an 11.5s audio/video desync traced to a CLOCK_BOOTTIME vs CLOCK_MONOTONIC mismatch.

Replacing legacy implementations with more efficient methods improved Algolia extension API performance by 70%, directly reducing search latency at scale. Also included a zero-downtime Redis migration consolidating session and autocomplete databases.
